The Flair Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Bad Urach is a family business run by the fourth generation of the family. As a certified biosphere hotel, the hotel has its own environmental management systems with solar thermal energy and a CHP plant. Situated in the heart of the UNESCO-certified biosphere region of Swabian Alb, the hotel is proud of its romantic location on the outskirts of the pedestrian zone of Bad Urach’s historic old town. In summer, you can sit on the terrace in front of the hotel and observe the pedestrian zone. Comfortably furnished guest rooms in a country house style are waiting for holidaymakers and business travellers between Stuttgart and Ulm.
The restaurant was recently awarded three lions, the maximum score, by “Schmeck den Süden” for its regional cuisine and home-made Swabian ravioli. After a hard day of work or outdoor activities, relax in the cosy “Höfle” inner courtyard away from the hustle and bustle and let us spoil you with culinary delights as you enjoy the warm evening air.
In addition to the hotel’s high quality, the location is an impressive central base for activities in the Swabian Alb biosphere region such as the Marbach Stud, mystical Blaubeuren, the towns of Zwiefalten and Sigmaringen, Hohenzollern Castle and beyond.
Thomas Frank, his family and the competent team in the “Vier Jahreszeiten” hotel are your hosts in Flair Hotel Bad Urach. You can look forward to a warm welcome and the usual high standards in this beautiful 3 star Superior hotel. The Frank family will be happy to offer a few inside tips if you want to see the magnificent scenery in the Reutlingen district and the Swabian Alb biosphere region at its most attractive.
The topic of sustainability is especially important to the Frank family. Running a hotel comes with great responsibility, since resource consumption is extremely high. The hosts in the Swabian Alb region are aware of this and have taken on the challenge with great success. The Flair Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten was certified by GreenSign in April 2019, achieving level 3 of 5 upfront.
It is especially important for the Frank family that they run their business in a way that conserves resources, so that their homeland, the Swabian Alb biosphere region, remains unchanged. Fair working conditions for staff are a matter of course for Tanja and Thomas Frank. They support their employees with various measures such as subsidising their membership of the local gym. Like all Flair Hotels, this hotel has close partnerships with local suppliers and obtains all goods as much as possible from the region. For environmentally-friendly guests, an e-charging station is available, and bicycles and e-bikes are also available for hire.
To ensure they leave behind a world worth living in for generations to come, the Frank family from the Flair Hotel Vier Jahrszeiten is committed to sustainability and additional improvements are planned.
The Swabian Alb’s past is by no means merely the region’s history, it is also an example of mid-European human history. Ice-Age art – such as that of the figure of the lion man carved from mammoth ivory, the Limes Museum in Aachen, the Staufer Cities or Hohenzollern Castle – the family seat of the royal house and the former ruling Prussian royal and German imperial house of the Hohenzollern. Go on a journey of discovery in the historical sites and delve into their eventful and fascinating history. The uniquely beautiful landscape of the Swabian Alb biosphere area inspired Eduard Mörike in his inimitable poems to nature. Culture, nature and cuisine are the triad on the Swabian Alb. The famous Maultaschen stuffed pasta, Alpine lamb, delicious cheese and the rediscovered Alpine lentils taste best with a regional beer. Life is good!
