A hotel offering “Thuringian hospitality”
Welcome to the Flair Forest Hotel & Restaurant Mellestollen. Wonderful, unspoiled nature as far as the eye can see – and now imagine that we’ve also brought a bit of the forest inside the hotel as well. The fruits of the forest can be found on our restaurant’s menu. In addition to regional cuisine with Thuringian dumplings and game, there are also international dishes and new trends such as “Kloßpommes” [dumpling French fries]. However, there’s also something for vegetarians when junior manager Sven Pröschold, Flair Chef of the Year 2019, unleashes his creativity in the kitchen.
The hotel is surrounded by numerous hiking trails so you can venture further than the nearby Mellestollen and the Hopfgartenstollen mining galleries during a tour through the exhibition mine. How about spending a warm summer’s evening in our beer garden, on the terrace or in our barbecue hut, right in the middle of the forest? Or on cold winter days, sitting in front of the fire, drinking a glass of red wine which you can sample in our wine cellar?
For smaller guests,
our two donkeys, Pauline and Sascha, will be just as pleased to see you as our sheep and goats and our pony, Fritz. Afterwards you can explore the adventure playground or visit the Saalfeld Fairy Grottoes.
